South Africa’s privately-owned low-cost airline, kulula.com, received the highly coveted title of ‘Best African Low-cost Airline’ in the 2015 Business Traveller Africa Awards. The winners across all aspects of business travel, including hotels, airlines, car rental and travel management were announced at The Maslow Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg on Tuesday, 1 September 2015.
Launched in 2012 in association with Business Traveller Africa magazine, the survey invites 1,700 discerning ASATA-registered travel agents and 500 ABTA-registered corporate travel buyers to complete questionnaires selecting the most efficient and preferred low-cost airline in Africa, amongst other award categories.
“What is encouraging is the number of responses we’ve received for the Best African Low-cost Airline category survey,”said Dylan Rogers, editor of Business Traveller Africa magazine.“This year we have had five leading low-cost airlines nominated in this category, with kulula revealed as the unanimous winner. The results speak for themselves, well done kulula!”.
Shaun Pozyn, Head of Marketing for kulula, says: “Voted for by experts in the travel industry, the Business Traveller Award is testament that kulula’s combination of outstanding customer service, efficiency and superior travel value is a winning formula in the minds and hearts of our loyal customers. This award also follows hot on the heels of our recent win as South Africa’s top airline for business travellers in the 2015 Sunday Times Top Brands survey. This acknowledgement drives us to continue striving for excellence”.
Pozyn accredits the win to the work ethic and morale of their staff, “The success of our airline has always been our staff! Our teams are enduring, admirably committed and relentlessly passionate about the business and creating a memorable and fun flying experience for passengers. Our core values have always been customer excellence, and exceeding client expectations - we are proud to say that our staff are testament to this”.
