Can I check-in online for all kulula flights?
Yes. You can check in online 24 hours before you leave or at all major airports that we operate in. The self-service kiosks at the airports close 40 minutes prior to departure.
What must I bring with me if I’ve checked in online?
You’ll need to provide identification in the form of a valid South African ID book/Smart Card, South African driver’s licence or valid passport and your boarding pass. Learn more on acceptable forms of identification. Print your boarding pass at the same time you check in, unless you're departing from George airport where you'll need to use the self-service kiosks or the check-in counter.
What must I do with my luggage?
At the airport drop your bag off at the dedicated bag drop-off zone. Proceed through to security at least 30 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights and 40 minutes priorto departure for international flights.
What if I've checked in online and I'm running late?
Even if you've checked in, all boarding gates close 10 minutes before departure.
If I miss my flight - then what?
We will try arrange another flight at your earliest convenience, but remember there may be some fees involved.
What happens if I miss my flight?
Should you fail to check in within the allocated time prior to scheduled departure or board at the stipulated time, you will be regarded as a no-show and will forfeit your seat as well as the fare that is allocated to that leg of your flight reservation. A no-show is not entitled to a refund for the value of the flight missed. Your return or onward flight segments will also be cancelled but will retain their value and may be rebooked upon request. Depending on the type of ticket initially purchased you may incur a rebooking fee plus the difference in price between the new and old ticket.
If you are running late or are unable to make your original booked flight, we suggest that you rebook for a new flight or advise us at least 45 minutes prior to the departure of your flight via the kulula Contact Centre in order to avoid your flights being cancelled.
What happens if I don't have any identification?
By safety precaution laws we are prohibited from allowing you through the security gates without verification.
What if I forgot or couldn't print my boarding pass at home?
If you're departing from a major airport you can print another boarding pass from the self-service kiosks available using your booking reference. Alternatively you can use the kulula check-in counter.
If I want to sit with my fellow travellers, do I have to check in online?
Yes! When you check in online early, you get to select your seats. If you only check in when you get to the airport, there may not be enough seats together for you to be seated next to each other.
