DIY made easy: travel agents can now manage their kulula group bookings via GDS

Johannesburg, 16 March 2015: 

kulula.com, SouthAfrica’s privately owned low-fare airline, has announced that effective 13 March 2015 travel agents will have the ability to make their own group bookings on any GDS system, instead of booking through the kulula groups department.

Brian Kitchin, Executive Manager of Sales for Comair, says “With this new development we intend to simplify the booking process. 

The kulula groups department receives a very high number of group booking requests per month, so this new project will ease the pressure on the department and alsogive travel agents full control of their own bookings; thusresulting in quicker processing of bookings once the reservation is made.”

Travel agents will also be able to add traveller names, process invoices and reserve their own Free Tour Leader bookings without having to contact the airline. The travel agents can also have the comfort of knowing that some facilities will still remain the same. For example: agents will still be allowed two free name changes per group, group check-in for a maximum of 20 passengers, pre-paid seating as well as extra bag purchases. All this can be done via kulula.com up to 24 hours prior to flight departure.

Travel agents should contact their GDS helpdesk to ensure that they have all the correct entries set up to successfully make their kulula groupbookings.
